"At great periods you have always felt, deep within you, the temptation to commit suicide. You gave yourself to it; breached your own defenses. You were a child. The idea of suicide was a protest against life; by dying, you would escape this longing for death."
Cesare Pavese (1908–1950), Italian poet, novelist, translator. The Burning Brand: Diaries 1935-1950, entry for Jan. 1, 1950 (1952, trans. 1961).

At university I studied Cesare Pavese, because I studied Italian movies and literature, and the Antonioni's movies despressed me. One I was gone to see on of his movies with a friend, we get out after 5 minutes .I'm not sure I wasn't enough mature. I can understand suicide, but I love too much life, and it's a shame trying suicide because whe have to fight. Life is a fight against bad things.
